We are a proud member of the Fermenters Guild

The Fermenters Guild is an association of Ontario winemaking retail stores focused on providing consumers with a quality product.  Our mission is to represent, promote and assist our members in providing professional services to their customers.  Fermenters Guild member stores are licensed by the Alcohol  and Gaming Commission of Ontario.

The Fermenters Guild is a non-profit organization formed to represent the interests of its members, primarily owners and operators of licensed Ferment on Premise (FOP) stores in Ontario. Other members include franchisors and suppliers to the industry.
The Guild's primary role has been to assist its members as the industry's advocate with the various governments and agencies involved in regulating and taxing the industry. It also hosts an annual trade show and convention. The Association is continually involved with providing a professional, predictable, and stable environment with clear regulations that support and enhance the growth of Ferment on Premises in Ontario and in Canada.
FERMENTERS GUILD is guided by a Board of Directors which is elected from the membership at large. The Directors are all volunteers who are enthusiastic and work together as a team to ensure the Association is run in accordance with the bylaws and code of ethics.
In the Spring of 2004 the membership gave approval to the Strategic Plan giving the board the mandate to implement the plan. The plan will give members a clear picture of the direction the Association is taking over the next five years
.

Values and Operating Principles

The Fermenters Guild supports the following values and operating principles.

2 That sharing of information, providing networking opportunities, providing educational advantages and supporting each other improves the industry for all, customers, manufacturers and FOP operators alike.
2
2 That all FOP operators must work under the same guidelines, adhering to standards and regulations to provide a level playing field and enhance healthy competition and improvements to the industry as a whole.
2
2 That honesty and integrity improve the image of the industry and expand the market for all.
2
2 That representation is important for an industry that is more regulated than many other industries. Manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers alike benefit from an industry-wide accepted Code of Ethics and Professional Standards to increase consumer and governmental trust and acceptance.
2
2 That governments and industry associations should continually work to make the process (Ferment On Premises) more open and fair and that standards should enhance and not unduly limit personal production of wine and beer.
